Code of Ethics

 

CREA members strive to uphold the highest ethical principles both with other members, and on the CREA Platform, as well as in the relationships with their clients, customers and community. 

 

CREA’s Four Pillars of Ethical Aspiration include Accountability, Professional Integrity, Protection of Confidential Information, Collaboration and Cooperation. 

 

All CREA members are committed to observing and promoting the highest standards of ethical conduct in our industry. As such, they pledge to accept this code as a minimum guideline for ethical conduct and agree to the following:

Pillar 1: Accountability

​

1.1. We will faithfully abide by the License and Terms of Use Agreement, the Website Terms of Use, our Privacy Policy and this Code of Ethics.

​

1.2. We will exercise reasonable care, good faith, and due diligence in managing our affairs and are committed to taking responsibility for our actions and decisions, ensuring they are guided by the best interests of our clients, stakeholders, and the public.

​

1.3. We will fully disclose, at the earliest opportunity, information that may result in a perceived or actual conflict of interest.

​

1.4. We take ownership of our actions and decisions, adhering to all regulations and policies relevant to our work and industry.

 

Pillar 2: Professional Integrity

​

2.1. We will conduct ourselves with the utmost professionalism, honesty and ethical conduct, promoting trust within the industry.

​

2.2. We will strive to uphold and assist other members of CREA in upholding the highest standards of conduct.

​

2.3. We will not engage in any form of discrimination or harassment based on race, gender, age, religion, sexual orientation, or any other protected characteristic.

​

2.4. We will uphold the highest standards of ethical behavior, even in the face of financial or personal gain, never compromising the trust placed in us by our clients.

​

2.5. We will actively seek continuous professional development to stay updated on industry best practices and adhere to all relevant laws and regulations.

 

Pillar 3: Protecting Confidential Information

3.1. We will maintain strict confidentiality regarding all non-public information entrusted to us by our clients, including financial, legal, and personal information.

​

3.2. We will only share confidential information with authorized parties when necessary and with the explicit consent of our clients.

​

3.3. We will employ secure data management and storage practices to safeguard sensitive information from unauthorized access or disclosure.

​

3.4. We will respect and uphold client confidentiality even after our professional relationship ends, ensuring the protection of their private information.

Pillar 4: Collaboration and Cooperation

​

4.1. We will foster a culture of teamwork, collaboration, and cooperation within the membership, valuing the contributions of all members.

​

4.2. We will encourage the sharing of knowledge and expertise within our industry, supporting the growth and success of our peers.

​

4.2. We will respect and value the diversity of opinions, backgrounds and experiences within our membership and our industry, promoting an inclusive and respectful environment.

​

4.3. We commit to contributing positively to the communities in which we operate, both through responsible business practices and community involvement.

In adhering to this Code of Ethics, we pledge to maintain the highest standards of professionalism, integrity, and responsibility in the commercial real estate industry, ensuring the trust and confidence of our clients, colleagues, and the public.
